A gym owner identified as Deepak was shot dead early Thursday morning in Haryana’s Hansi town while he was conducting a routine training session outside his fitness centre, police said. The incident took place around 5:30 am near Fawwara Chowk, where the victim regularly trained students in open space outside a row of shops. Deepak, who was also reportedly engaged in property dealing in the area, died on the spot after being hit by multiple bullets. According to police, the attack occurred suddenly while Deepak was engaged in morning exercises with trainees.
Two unidentified armed assailants arrived at the location on a motorcycle and carried out a targeted shooting before escaping from the scene. The entire sequence of events was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, which has now become a key part of the investigation. Preliminary analysis of the footage suggests that the attackers had carefully planned the assault. Both men were seen wearing helmets to conceal their identities and approached the victim without raising suspicion. Within seconds of arriving, one of the assailants opened fire at close range, while the other assisted in ensuring a quick escape after the attack.
Police officials said that around 10 rounds of bullets were fired during the incident, indicating a high level of intent and execution. Deepak was reportedly struck in the head and upper body, causing fatal injuries. The attackers fled immediately after the shooting, leaving the area in panic as locals rushed to the scene after hearing gunfire. Following the incident, police registered a murder case and launched a full-scale investigation. Multiple teams have been formed to trace the attackers, and officials are scanning CCTV footage from nearby routes to track the motorcycle’s movement before and after the crime.

Forensic teams have also collected evidence from the scene for further analysis. Authorities are examining possible motives behind the killing, including personal disputes and professional rivalries linked to the victim’s property dealings. However, police have not ruled out other angles and are continuing to question individuals who may have had prior interactions with Deepak. Senior police officers visited the crime scene and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to apprehend the accused.
The incident has raised fresh concerns about rising targeted killings in the region, particularly those carried out in public spaces during early morning hours when security presence is limited. Investigators said that the CCTV footage is expected to play a crucial role in identifying the suspects and reconstructing the exact sequence of events leading to the murder. Efforts are underway to establish the identity of the attackers and determine whether the crime was part of a larger planned conspiracy.
