Composer Amaal Mallik has responded firmly to allegations by Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur regarding the 2019 hit "Bekhayali" from Kabir Singh, challenging them to pursue legal action if they believe his statements are defamatory. In an interview with Zoom on December 13, 2025, Mallik denied ever claiming undue credit for others' work, emphasising his transparency in recreations and questioning why the duo opted for a public call-out instead of court proceedings.
The controversy reignited when Sachet-Parampara posted a video accusing Mallik of "false and baseless" claims about contributing to "Bekhayali", captioning it with strong words like "SHAME ON YOU AMAAL MALIK". They asserted the song was entirely their creation, rejecting Mallik's earlier remarks that he had shared a tune via WhatsApp, which served as a reference.
Mallik countered by stating he has never appropriated others' compositions, noting, "Has any composer whose song I have recreated woken up and said he has destroyed my song? Never." He highlighted his practice of openly crediting originals in remakes and accused detractors of indirect attacks via interviews or social media without confronting him directly.

"If anyone has a problem, go to the court straight up. Do a case of defamation if you feel I have copied your music," Mallik said, adding that critics fear direct dialogue. He reiterated his willingness to "take the bullet but speak the truth," defending his industry reputation.
The dispute dates back to Mallik's past comments suggesting his melody influenced "Bekhayali", which Sachet-Parampara have consistently denied. The public spat has divided opinions in the music community, with some viewing it as a credit battle common in Bollywood.
As no legal steps have been announced, the exchange underscores ongoing sensitivities around song credits and collaborations in the film industry.
