Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the GT 53 4-Door Coupe internationally as the entry-level model in its all-electric performance flagship range. Positioned below the GT 55 and GT 63, the new electric coupe combines dual-motor all-wheel drive with a claimed WLTP range of up to 793 km. Mercedes-Benz has not yet announced a launch timeline for the GT 53 4-Door Coupe in the Indian market.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 53 is powered by a 106 kWh liquid-cooled battery pack paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. The setup produces 544 hp and 800 Nm of torque, enabling the electric coupe to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. While its performance figures are lower than those of the more powerful GT 55 and GT 63, the GT 53 offers the longest claimed driving range among the three variants.
The GT 53 uses an 800-volt electrical architecture and supports DC fast charging at up to 600 kW. Mercedes-AMG claims the battery can gain as much as 534 km of driving range in 10 minutes under suitable charging conditions. Its 793 km WLTP range is 103 km higher than the GT 55 and 107 km more than the GT 63, underlining the new model's focus on combining performance with efficiency.

Visually, the GT 53 retains the overall proportions of the higher-performance versions but receives distinctive styling elements. These include star-shaped daytime running lights, a concave AMG grille with vertical slats and a sculpted bonnet. At the rear, three-pod LED tail-lights with integrated three-pointed-star elements are complemented by gloss-black detailing. An electronically deployable rear spoiler and rear diffuser are also designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency and stability at higher speeds.
Inside, the electric AMG features a three-screen dashboard with a 10.2-inch digital instrument display, a 14-inch central touchscreen and a 14-inch passenger display. Other equipment includes an AMG steering wheel, panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, wireless charging and adaptive air suspension with torque vectoring. The car offers 507 litres of boot space along with a 62-litre front storage compartment, while multiple drive modes include Comfort, Sport, Eco and AMGFORCE Sport+.
Mercedes-Benz currently sells the combustion-powered GT 4-Door Coupe in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.27 crore. However, the company has not confirmed whether or when the all-electric GT 53 4-Door Coupe will be introduced in the country. If launched, the model would expand Mercedes-AMG's electric performance portfolio in India's growing premium EV segment.
