China-based smartphone maker Xiaomi has unveiled its latest flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 17 series, in India and global markets. The series includes two models: the standard Xiaomi 17 and the premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Both devices are powered by Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and run on Android 16-based HyperOS 3, showcasing Xiaomi’s latest hardware and software innovations.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra stands out with a Leica-tuned triple rear camera system, featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a groundbreaking 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display offers a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,060 nits, protected by Dragon Crystal Glass 3. Additional features include dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, IP66/68/69 dust and water resistance, a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
The standard Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision support, and peak brightness of 3,500 nits. It also comes with a Leica-tuned triple camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The device is powered by 12GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 256GB of internal storage, along with a 6,330mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi 17 is set at EUR 999 (roughly Rs. 1,07,449) for the 12GB RAM/256GB storage variant, available in Alpine Pink, Black, Ice Blue, and Venture Green. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is priced at EUR 1,499 (approximately Rs. 1,61,264) for the 16GB RAM/512GB storage model and comes in Black, Starlit Green, and White. Xiaomi also offers optional Photography Kits for the Ultra variant, priced at EUR 99.99 and EUR 199.99 for the standard and Pro versions, respectively.
Both smartphones support advanced connectivity options including 5G, 4G LTE, NFC, and USB Type-C. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra also offers reverse wireless charging at 22.5W. Xiaomi has emphasized the devices’ performance, photography capabilities, and premium design as key differentiators in the competitive flagship segment.
