Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to launch the final model in its flagship Xiaomi 17 series, the Xiaomi 17 Max, next month. The Xiaomi 17 lineup, which debuted in India earlier this year, currently includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The 17 Max is expected to cap off the series with premium specifications and pricing.
Tech blogger Kartikey Singh (@That_Kartikey) shared details about the handset on X, citing sources via Gizmochina. According to the leak, the Xiaomi 17 Max will be launched in May and is anticipated to be priced higher than the standard Xiaomi 17, which debuted in India at Rs. 89,999 for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The smartphone is expected to feature a large 6.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering a smooth visual experience. It will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the same 3nm octa-core processor used across other Xiaomi 17 models. The device could also include a massive 8,000mAh battery, supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

Photography capabilities are said to be a highlight of the Xiaomi 17 Max. The phone is expected to sport a triple rear camera setup, including a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Leaks suggest the main camera may feature Leica tuning and a Samsung ISOCELL HPE 1/1.4-inch sensor, while the secondary lenses could use Sony sensors.
The handset’s rumored specifications align with previous reports indicating a launch in China during the second quarter of 2026. Analysts believe that Xiaomi is positioning the 17 Max as a premium flagship aimed at users seeking top-of-the-line performance, photography, and display features in a single device.
Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the launch date, specifications, or pricing of the 17 Max, so consumers are advised to treat the current information as unofficial. However, if the leaks prove accurate, the device could be one of the most powerful and feature-rich smartphones in the company’s current lineup.
