Realme has officially teased the design and color options for its upcoming Realme Neo 8 smartphone, set to launch in China on January 22, 2026, as the direct successor to the Realme Neo 7. The company shared the details through a Weibo post, revealing three distinct color variants: Cyber Purple, Mecha Gray, and Origin White. Each variant adopts an identical esports-inspired transparent RGB design on the rear panel, giving the phone a futuristic, gaming-oriented aesthetic.
The Cyber Purple shade is described as a “flash fantasy,” evoking a vibrant, trendy play arena vibe. Mecha Gray offers a “steady and deep” appearance, while Origin White is positioned as “truly flawless.” All three colorways feature the same see-through back panel that showcases internal components, complemented by Realme’s signature Awakening Halo lighting effect around the camera island. The VOOC fast-charging branding appears in striking orange, while “HYPERIMAGE+” is embossed on the camera module, and an NFC label confirms support for near-field communication.
The transparent design not only highlights the phone’s gaming credentials but also integrates practical elements like the illuminated Halo ring, which is expected to serve as a notification and gaming indicator. This RGB-heavy approach aligns with the growing trend of visually dynamic smartphones targeted at esports enthusiasts and younger users who prioritize style alongside performance.

In terms of display technology, Realme has confirmed that the Neo 8 will feature a 165 Hz Samsung M14 OLED panel. This screen utilizes the latest luminescent materials from Samsung Display, promising improved power efficiency and an extended lifespan compared to previous generations. Additional protections include Crystal Armor Glass for enhanced scratch and drop resistance, along with an in-display ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor for faster and more secure unlocking.
The teasers position the Realme Neo 8 as a strong contender in the mid-to-high-end gaming smartphone segment in China. With its eye-catching transparent RGB design, high-refresh-rate display, and advanced protection features, the device appears tailored to deliver both performance and visual appeal. More specifications, including processor details, camera setup, and battery capacity, are expected to be revealed closer to the launch date.
