Honor has confirmed that a new smartphone, the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air, will soon join its flagship Magic 8 lineup. The company announced that the device will be unveiled in China on January 19, positioning it as a thinner and lighter alternative to the recently launched Honor Magic 8 Pro.
The announcement was made via Honor’s official Weibo account, accompanied by the tagline “Pro in the Air,” hinting that the upcoming handset will deliver flagship-level performance in a slim and lightweight form factor. While Honor has not yet revealed official specifications, the company is expected to share more details in the days leading up to the launch.
Meanwhile, prominent tipster Ice Universe has leaked multiple renders and real-life images of the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air, offering a closer look at its design. The smartphone is expected to be available in four colour options—orange, purple, black, and white—and appears to feature a horizontal pill-shaped camera module housing a triple rear camera setup.

The leaked images suggest the handset will sport a flat metal frame, with a USB Type-C port at the bottom and volume and power buttons on the right edge. The rear panel also includes a dual LED flash unit placed below the camera module, along with Honor branding at the bottom.
According to the tipster, the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air could pack a 5,500mAh battery while maintaining an ultra-slim profile of just 6.1mm and a lightweight build of approximately 155 grams. These dimensions indicate a strong focus on portability without sacrificing battery capacity.
The new launch follows the debut of the Honor Magic 8 Pro in China in October 2025, which featured a massive 7,200mAh battery and premium specifications. The Magic 8 Pro was priced starting at CNY 4,499 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, reinforcing Honor’s premium ambitions in the flagship smartphone segment.
