Motorola has expanded its premium smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Motorola Edge 70 Max, the fifth model in the company's Edge 70 series. Positioned in the flagship segment, the smartphone features Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, a massive 7,100mAh battery, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and ships with Android 16 out of the box. The Motorola Edge 70 Max is priced at ₹54,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM + 256GB model costs ₹59,999.
As part of the introductory offers, customers can avail an instant ₹5,000 discount on purchases made using select bank credit cards. The smartphone will go on sale from July 20 through Flipkart and Motorola's official online store. The highlight of the new flagship is its 7,100mAh battery, reflecting the growing industry trend of equipping premium smartphones with larger batteries to meet increasing demands for extended usage. Motorola claims the large battery is designed to provide all-day performance for gaming, streaming, productivity and multimedia consumption, although detailed battery endurance figures have not yet been disclosed.
Powering the device is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, aimed at delivering flagship-level performance across gaming, multitasking and AI-powered applications. The processor is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, ensuring smooth performance for demanding workloads. The Edge 70 Max also runs Android 16, offering users the latest software features and security updates from launch. The smartphone sports a 144Hz AMOLED display, promising smoother animations, responsive touch performance and vibrant colours for gaming and media consumption.

Motorola is also offering the device in three Pantone-curated colour options, continuing its recent collaboration with the global colour authority to provide distinctive finishes across its premium smartphone lineup. With the Edge 70 Max, Motorola is targeting buyers seeking flagship specifications without entering the ultra-premium price segment. The combination of a high-refresh-rate display, top-tier processor, large battery and the latest Android version positions the handset as a competitor to other premium Android smartphones in the Indian market.
The launch comes as smartphone manufacturers increasingly focus on battery capacity and performance as key differentiators. While flagship devices have traditionally emphasised camera systems and processing power, larger batteries are becoming a major selling point for users looking for extended screen time and reduced charging frequency. The Motorola Edge 70 Max will be available for purchase in India starting July 20, with sales taking place through Flipkart and Motorola's official online channels. With competitive launch offers and flagship-grade hardware, the company is aiming to strengthen its presence in India's premium smartphone segment.
