Fifteen-year-old cricket sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi capped off a remarkable IPL 2026 season by emerging as one of the tournament's biggest stars, earning more than ₹2.50 crore through his contract, match fees, and performance-based awards. Despite the Rajasthan Royals falling short of a place in the final, the teenage batter finished the campaign as the tournament's leading run-scorer and collected several prestigious individual honors at the season-ending awards ceremony in Ahmedabad.
Sooryavanshi, who was acquired by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.10 crore at the IPL mega auction, justified the franchise's faith with an extraordinary season. The young batter amassed 776 runs during the tournament, securing the Orange Cap awarded to the highest run-scorer. His consistent performances made him one of the standout players of the season and significantly boosted his earnings beyond his base contract value.
At the IPL 2026 presentation ceremony held after the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Sooryavanshi received multiple awards in recognition of his achievements. He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, earning ₹15 lakh. In addition, he collected ₹10 lakh each for winning the Orange Cap, Emerging Player of the Season, Super Striker of the Season, and Super Sixes of the Season awards. He also received a Tata Sierra as part of the Super Striker honor.

Apart from award money, the teenager earned substantial income through match fees. Under the IPL's player payment structure, Sooryavanshi received ₹7.5 lakh for every match he played. Having featured in all 16 matches for Rajasthan Royals during the season, he accumulated ₹1.20 crore in match fees alone, exceeding the value of his annual player retainer.
The youngster also benefited from several match-day awards throughout the campaign. Individual recognitions such as Electric Striker of the Match, Most Sixes of the Match, and other performance-based prizes carried cash rewards, typically worth ₹1 lakh each. While the exact number of such awards won by Sooryavanshi was not disclosed, these bonuses further increased his overall earnings during the tournament.
Combining his ₹1.10 crore franchise contract, ₹1.20 crore in match fees, and ₹55 lakh in major season awards and additional match-day bonuses, Sooryavanshi's total earnings comfortably crossed the ₹2.50 crore mark. The season not only established him as one of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket but also marked one of the most financially rewarding debut campaigns by a teenager in IPL history.
