Uttar Pradesh will distribute a total of ₹28.5 crore among 20 sportspersons who won medals at the 2026 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, with Gulveer Singh emerging as the state's highest cash-award recipient. The Aligarh athlete is set to receive a record ₹5 crore for his five-medal haul across the two multi-sport events, according to the details provided.
The overall reward package covers medals won by Uttar Pradesh athletes at both competitions. At the Asian Games, the state's sportspersons secured four gold, three silver and eight bronze medals, while the Commonwealth Games tally included one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
Singh's performance made him the most decorated athlete from Uttar Pradesh across the two events and placed him at the top of the state's proposed cash-award structure. His five medals across the competitions have earned him the highest individual purse among the athletes covered under the reward package.
