India’s U19 World Cup hero Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is preparing for a different kind of challenge just days after lifting the prestigious youth title. Having played a pivotal role in securing India’s sixth U19 World Cup crown, the young cricketer will now swap his bat for books as he appears for the CBSE Class 10 board examinations. The exams are scheduled to be held from February 17 to March 11.
A student of Podar International School in Bihar’s Samastipur district, Vaibhav has completed all required formalities and received his admit card. Despite missing classes due to national team commitments, school authorities have assured full support. Principal Neel Kishore stated that the institution will ensure the young athlete faces no difficulty while appearing for his examinations.
Vaibhav’s academic focus follows a remarkable campaign in the ICC Under-19 World Cup, where he amassed 439 runs at an impressive average of 62. Silencing critics who questioned his performance in high-pressure matches, he delivered a stunning 175-run innings in the final against England. His match-winning knock cemented his reputation as one of India’s most promising young talents.

Following the conclusion of his board exams, Vaibhav is expected to shift his attention to the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. He will represent the Rajasthan Royals, the franchise that secured him for ₹1.1 crore in the IPL 2025 auction, making him the youngest player ever picked in the tournament’s history.
Vaibhav has already demonstrated his potential on the IPL stage. In a match against the Gujarat Titans, he scored a blistering century, becoming the youngest cricketer to register a hundred in T20 cricket. As he balances academic responsibilities with professional cricket, Vaibhav’s journey reflects a rare blend of discipline, talent and determination at a remarkably young age.
