Jharkhand took an early lead in the second quarter, with Ashish Tani Purti (21st minute) and Anish Dungdung (24th minute) scoring back-to-back goals. Punjab responded swiftly, leveling the score with goals from Akshit Salaria (29th minute) and Varinder Singh (30th minute). Jharkhand regained the lead through Sukhu Guria’s strike in the 42nd minute, but Punjab’s Mandeep Singh turned the tide with a brilliant brace in the 45th and 53rd minutes, sealing the championship for his team.
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh clinched the bronze medal with a 5-3 victory over Madhya Pradesh, rounding out a competitive tournament that showcased India’s emerging hockey talent.
