Gujarat Titans (GT) showcased a clinical performance to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in their IPL clash on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Skipper Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 61 off 43 balls and Mohammed Siraj’s fiery 4/17 spearheaded GT’s third win in four matches, while SRH slumped to their fourth loss in five outings.
Opting to bowl, GT restricted SRH to 152/8 on a sluggish pitch. Siraj struck early, dismissing Travis Head (8) and Abhishek Sharma (18) to derail the hosts’ start. R Sai Kishore (2/24) and Prasidh Krishna (2/25) chipped in, with Nitish Kumar Reddy (31) and Heinrich Klaasen (27) offering brief resistance via a 50-run stand.
However, Sai Kishore’s double blow—removing Klaasen and Reddy—ensured SRH couldn’t recover, despite a late 22* from Pat Cummins.
Chasing 153, GT stumbled to 16/2, with Mohammed Shami (2/28) and Cummins (1/26) removing B Sai Sudharsan (5) and Jos Buttler (0). Gill and Washington Sundar (49 off 29) then turned the tide with a 90-run partnership.
Sundar capitalized on Simarjeet Singh’s wayward 20-run over, smashing two sixes, while Gill’s elegant fifty kept GT ahead. Sherfane Rutherford’s unbeaten 35 off 16 sealed the chase with 20 balls to spare.
SRH’s batting woes persisted, with their openers faltering again, managing just 45/2 in the powerplay. GT’s dominance was briefly tested when Glenn Phillips limped off injured, but their depth prevailed. The win cements GT’s strong form, while SRH’s campaign continues to unravel, leaving them desperate for a turnaround.
