India’s Smriti Mandhana has been nominated for the Player of the Tournament award in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, despite India’s underwhelming campaign that ended before the knockout stage. She joins Australia’s Ellyse Perry, England’s Danni Wyatt-Hodge, and South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp on a four-player shortlist recognising standout individual performances across the competition.
Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry has been one of the tournament’s most influential performers, scoring 185 runs at an average of 46.25 and taking four wickets at an economy rate of 7.50. She played a central role in Australia’s unbeaten run to the final, earning three Player of the Match awards. Her contributions included a disciplined all-round display against Bangladesh and consecutive half-centuries against Pakistan and India, helping her team secure a place in the title match.
England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge has led the batting charts with 294 runs at an average of 73.5, making her one of the most consistent performers of the tournament. Her campaign began with a century against Sri Lanka in the opening match, followed by two additional half-centuries that helped England reach the final. Known for her aggressive approach at the top of the order, she has maintained a strike rate of 152.33 throughout the competition.

India’s Smriti Mandhana earned her nomination through consistent top-order performances, scoring 205 runs at an average of 41. She provided strong starts for India with back-to-back fifties against Pakistan and the Netherlands, setting the tone for her team’s campaign. Although India failed to reach the semi-finals after a crucial group-stage loss to Australia, Mandhana’s form remained one of the team’s key positives.
South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp completes the shortlist, recognised for her all-round impact with both bat and ball. She scored 124 runs and took eight wickets at an average of 14.37, playing a crucial role in South Africa’s progression to the semi-finals. Her standout performance came against India, where she took two wickets and later guided a successful chase with an unbeaten 81, keeping her team’s knockout hopes alive.
The Player of the Tournament award will be announced after the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 final between England and Australia at Lord’s, bringing closure to a competition that has showcased several dominant individual performances across teams and conditions.
