India T20 captain Shreyas Iyer has climbed to a career-best seventh position in the latest ICC men's T20I batting rankings after his unbeaten century against the West Indies in the series opener in Lucknow. Iyer smashed 102 not out from just 43 deliveries, including 10 fours and six sixes, as India secured a commanding eight-wicket victory on Tuesday. His match-winning knock earned him a jump of 18 places and made him India's third-highest-ranked batter in the format.
Iyer's rise comes as India continue to dominate the top end of the T20I batting rankings. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma occupy the first two positions, while Tilak Varma is ranked 10th. The presence of four Indian batters inside the top 10 underlines the team's depth in the shortest format. Teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also moved eight places to 46th, while West Indies batter Sherfane Rutherford climbed 10 spots to 37th following his 56-run innings.
There were also significant changes in the T20I bowling rankings. Pakistan's Abrar Ahmed lost the No. 1 position after recording figures of none for 29 and one for 29 in the Asian Games semifinal and final. Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan has returned to the top spot for the eighth time in his career. India's Axar Patel was another major beneficiary, moving up 16 places to seventh after taking two wickets in each of three matches during the week.

In the ODI rankings, India captain Shubman Gill retained the No. 1 position following a remarkable performance against the West Indies. Gill scored an unbeaten 223 in the second ODI in Guwahati, recording his second double century in the format. The innings, which came during an ODI run chase, earned him 25 additional rating points and took his tally to 841, matching his career-best rating.
Former India captain Virat Kohli, meanwhile, dropped from second to third in the ODI batting rankings. KL Rahul returned to the top 10 at No. 10 after moving up seven places following his century in the third ODI against the West Indies. The latest rankings underline the strong performances from India's top-order batters across both limited-overs formats.
The rankings also reflect a productive period for several players outside India's established stars. Pakistan's Hasan Nawaz rose 62 places to 48th in the T20I batting rankings after his performances at the Asian Games. With Iyer making his biggest-ever move into the T20I top 10 and Gill strengthening his hold on the ODI summit, Indian batters continue to occupy prominent positions across the ICC's latest rankings.
