Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma has dismissed ongoing speculation about his future in international cricket, saying external criticism and discussions will continue as long as he remains part of the team. The veteran batter said his priority is to focus on performances rather than react to outside opinions. Rohit's comments came after he scored a brilliant 138 at Lord's against England, becoming the oldest Indian player to score a century in men's 50-over cricket. Despite his remarkable individual performance, India suffered a 27-run defeat in the match.

"The noise, since I made my debut was there. Till I am going to stay here, it is always going to be there, so it doesn't really matter too much," Rohit said in an interaction with BCCI.TV. The 39-year-old added that his responsibility remains contributing to the team's success through his performances on the field. He said he does not want to spend time responding to speculation and prefers to let his cricket answer questions about his future.

"What really matters is what I do on the field, try and contribute to the success of the team. That's where all my focus is. Let the noise be there, if there is no noise there is no fun," Rohit said. The former India captain also explained his approach towards criticism, saying that his role is to continue representing the country and performing with the bat. "My job is with bat, come and play, represent my country, that's what I have been told to do since I made my debut," he added.

"I love playing in England. The atmosphere, the grounds, the pitches, when you turn up to play any format over here, it challenges you in different ways. And that's what you want as a cricketer," he said. Rohit's latest comments underline his determination to continue focusing on cricket rather than retirement discussions.
