Pakistan cricket is facing internal turmoil following its disappointing exit from the T20 World Cup at the Super 8 stage. The team, led by captain Salman Ali Agha, suffered heavy defeats against archrivals India and England, prompting criticism over lacklustre performances. Reports indicate that players may face fines for poor displays, and the captain’s position could also be under review, with discussions about appointing a new coach underway.
According to a Geo Super report citing sources, several Pakistan players reportedly revolted against head coach Mike Hesson during the tournament. Individual players allegedly approached Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials to complain about Hesson’s conduct. Sources claim that his rigid approach and unilateral decision-making unsettled the dressing room, with key matters reportedly being decided without consulting the captain. Hesson is said to have frequently intervened in all aspects of team management.
PCB officials are reviewing Hesson’s behaviour, with senior authorities expected to examine the tour report before holding detailed discussions with him. Sources suggest that both the selection panel and captain Salman Ali Agha struggled to challenge Hesson’s authority, which reportedly extended across team affairs.

Despite the complaints, Hesson may not be removed, as he is understood to have a two-year contract with the PCB. The board reportedly remains committed to maintaining stability in the head coach position while reviewing the situation.
