India all-rounder Hardik Pandya capped off a memorable T20I series against South Africa with both power and compassion during the fifth and final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Pandya’s explosive batting display helped India assert complete control, but an unexpected moment off the field drew widespread attention and praise.
Continuing his red-hot form, Pandya smashed a breathtaking 63 off just 25 balls, hammering five towering sixes into the stands. One of those shots, however, struck a cameraman positioned near the boundary, leaving him with a bruised shoulder. The incident briefly paused celebrations, raising concern among players and spectators alike.
After the Indian innings concluded, Pandya immediately walked to the boundary to personally check on the cameraperson. In a video later shared by the BCCI, the all-rounder was seen inspecting the injury, helping apply an ice pack, and offering an apologetic embrace. His gesture highlighted a rare and heartfelt moment of empathy on a high-pressure stage.

Reflecting on the incident, Pandya admitted he was deeply worried by the force of the shot. He said he felt relieved that the ball did not cause a more serious injury and expressed gratitude that the cameraman was safe. Pandya also noted that he had seen the cameraperson regularly throughout his career and wanted to ensure his well-being.
On the field, India produced a commanding performance with the bat. Tilak Varma played a composed knock of 73, complementing Pandya’s aggression as India posted an imposing total of 231 for 5. The target put South Africa under immense pressure from the outset.
Despite a spirited chase by the visitors, Varun Chakravarthy’s four-wicket haul proved decisive, restricting South Africa to 201 for 8. India clinched a convincing 30-run victory, sealing the series 3–1 and underlining their dominance in the shortest format of the game.
