Australia captain Alyssa Healy is set to play her final international match in the one-off pink-ball Test against India at the WACA Stadium on Friday. Speaking ahead of the fixture, Healy emphasized that she does not expect to feel sadness, instead focusing on gratitude for her career and excitement for life beyond cricket. Australia currently holds an 8-4 lead over India in the multi-format series and will aim to give Healy a memorable send-off with a Test victory.
Reflecting on her career, Healy said, “I’ve really enjoyed the last 20 years of cricket, and we’ll wait and see what unfolds next, which is more exciting than anything else. I’ve been very aware that not everybody gets to retire on their own terms, and this is a really cool opportunity to finish here at home and in a Baggy Green.” She acknowledged the uniqueness of ending her international career on her own terms and expressed enthusiasm for contributing to the team’s success in her final game.
Healy enters the match with a chance to achieve an elusive Test century. After signing off from ODIs with a fairytale 158 in Hobart, she returns to the same venue where she narrowly missed a three-figure score against South Africa two years ago. “I’m not going out there to make a duck. So, if three figures come up, then so be it. But at the end of the day, I just want to contribute to a team success,” she said.

The Australian wicketkeeper-batter remains focused on the team’s goal for the next four days. “Feeling in good nick, so hopefully I can transfer that to the pink ball here. The series has been toughly contested so far, and to be up 8-4, we’re really pleased. Hopefully, we go out there and get the job done,” Healy added.
As she prepares to bid farewell to international cricket, Healy’s priority remains clear: ensuring Australia secures a win and celebrating a distinguished career that has inspired teammates and fans alike. Her final Test promises to be both a personal milestone and a significant moment for the team.
