The much-anticipated meeting occurred in the evening after Messi arrived at the stadium, where he was joined by Inter Miami teammates Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul. Roughly half an hour after Messi stepped onto the field and interacted with former India football captain Sunil Chhetri and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Tendulkar made his entrance to thunderous applause.

Tendulkar gifted Messi his iconic No. 10 India ODI jersey, highlighting the shared jersey number that both legends have worn throughout their illustrious careers.
