Chennai turned into a sea of sweat, spirit, and solidarity as more than 7,000 runners from across South India laced up for the 14th Hexaware Dream Runners Half Marathon 2025 on Sunday morning.
Participants from Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu joined the event, flagged off by State Minister for Medical Education and Family Welfare Ma Subramanian alongside Hexaware Technologies' Krishna Balagurunathan. The marathon's 2025 theme — “Run, Inspire, Fuel, Strengthen – Every Step Counts” — was brought to life by runners of all ages and abilities.
While 2,000 runners took on the gruelling 21.1 km half marathon, nearly 5,000 others raced in the 10 km run. Among them were 1,100 women, 11 senior citizens over 70, and numerous differently-abled participants who defied the odds to cross the finish line.

Beyond just fitness, the event carried a powerful cause: proceeds will go towards prosthetic limbs for amputees and compression suits for burn and domestic violence survivors.
Certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), the Dream Runners event isn’t just about running — it's about making an impact. The group also champions cleaner races, women’s empowerment, and emergency medical readiness.
