A 19-year-old man from Navi Mumbai was arrested by the Surat Cyber Crime Branch for allegedly harassing a woman physiotherapist after posing as a patient seeking online treatment. According to the police, the accused contacted the physiotherapist, sent her obscene videos and photographs and later threatened to make the material public when she refused to provide treatment.
The physiotherapist reportedly received a call from an unknown number several days before filing the complaint. The caller allegedly introduced himself as a patient who had suffered a problem involving his private parts and claimed that he required online physiotherapy. He continued communicating with the woman under the pretext of seeking medical assistance.
According to police, the accused later sent nude videos and photographs of himself to the physiotherapist. When she advised him to consult a male physiotherapist instead, he allegedly pressured her to provide treatment herself and continued sending inappropriate material. He also allegedly threatened to make the videos public, causing the woman significant mental distress.

The physiotherapist subsequently approached the Surat Cyber Crime Branch and lodged a complaint. Police launched a technical investigation to trace the person behind the calls and messages. The investigation led officers to identify the accused as 19-year-old Tushar, a resident of Navi Mumbai. A Surat Police team then travelled to Navi Mumbai and arrested him from his residence.
Surat Cyber Crime DCP Vishakha Jain said the accused had obtained the physiotherapist's phone number through a Google advertisement. He allegedly contacted her claiming that he required physiotherapy following an accident. Police said a tattoo visible in the obscene videos also helped establish his identity after investigators found that he had reportedly suffered an accident two or three months earlier.
Police are now investigating whether the accused targeted other women doctors or physiotherapists in a similar manner. The Surat Physiotherapists Association has also submitted a collective complaint to the Cyber Crime Branch, claiming that other women physiotherapists have experienced similar harassment involving obscene messages. Police said further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the alleged harassment and identify any additional victims.
