Amid the ongoing uncertainty over government formation in Tamil Nadu following the elections, Actor-politician Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has found itself at the centre of intense political negotiations after being told it must prove majority support in the 234-member Assembly to stake claim to form the government.
The party, which emerged as the single largest with 108 seats but fell short of the 118-mark needed for a majority, is currently engaged in efforts to secure additional support from smaller parties. The post-poll scenario has turned Tamil Nadu into a closely watched political battleground, with alliances and negotiations continuing behind the scenes.
Amid this high-stakes situation, one of Vijay’s personal security personnel, Aroon Suresh, drew attention after posting an emotional message on Instagram Stories. The post read, “Beautiful outcomes come after hard battles,” along with a motivational line in Tamil: “Confident-a irunga, nallathe nadakkum” (Stay confident, good things will happen). Screenshots of the message quickly circulated on social media, sparking discussions among TVK supporters.

The development comes at a sensitive time for Vijay, whose political debut has already been marked by a series of challenges. Earlier, the state Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar reportedly informed TVK leadership that they must demonstrate clear majority support in the Assembly before being invited to form the government, further intensifying political uncertainty.
The post-election phase has also seen increased activity among rival parties and potential allies, as TVK continues discussions to bridge the gap to the majority mark. Congress, which holds five seats, has extended conditional support, but the alliance still remains short of the required numbers, making smaller parties crucial to the final outcome.
Vijay’s political journey has also been accompanied by several controversies and disruptions. The actor faced a major tragedy earlier during a rally in Karur where a stampede claimed 41 lives, raising questions about crowd management at political events. Separately, his film Jana Nayagan encountered hurdles after delays in certification by the Central Board of Film Certification, and was later leaked online ahead of the elections, leading to multiple arrests.
More recently, personal speculation around Vijay also gained attention in media circles, though no official confirmation has been made regarding such claims. Despite these challenges, TVK continues to project confidence as it navigates one of the most closely watched post-poll negotiations in Tamil Nadu’s recent political history.
