Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday urged the Union government to engage with protesting youth at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi rather than dismiss their concerns, amid ongoing demonstrations linked to alleged irregularities in national examinations. His remarks come in support of students and aspirants who gathered in the capital seeking accountability in exam-related issues.
In a statement shared on social media through party leader Sanjay Raut, Thackeray said the youth represent the future of the country and should not be ignored while protesting under difficult weather conditions. He emphasised that their grievances deserve attention rather than dismissal, calling for constructive engagement from the Centre.
Thackeray also criticised the alleged use of derogatory labels for the protestors, stating that it is inappropriate to deny justice to young citizens or refer to them in a demeaning manner. He argued that the scale of alleged exam-related irregularities, including reports of paper leaks, has deeply impacted the lives and aspirations of lakhs of students across the country.

Referring specifically to the NEET examination controversy, he said such incidents have created widespread distress among aspirants and their families. According to him, the protests reflect the frustration of students who feel their future opportunities have been compromised, and their voices should be treated seriously by authorities.
The demonstration at Jantar Mantar witnessed participation from school students, college-goers, competitive exam candidates, and parents, organised by supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The movement has gained attention in recent weeks over allegations of irregularities in examinations including NEET, CUET, CBSE-linked tests, and SSC recruitment processes.
Thackeray concluded that the government should not underestimate the message being conveyed by the protesting youth, stating that their mobilisation signals a broader concern over transparency and fairness in the examination system. He reiterated that constructive dialogue is essential to address their grievances and restore confidence among students.
