As campaigning intensifies for the high-stakes Jubilee Hills Assembly bye-election, Telangana's 'big three'—ruling Congress, BJP, and BRS—have rolled out sharply contrasting strategies to woo voters in this upscale Hyderabad constituency. The November 2025 poll, triggered by the resignation of sitting Congress MLA Maganti Gopinath after his Rajya Sabha elevation, pits Congress against BJP's D. Balasundara Reddy and BRS's Mohammed Waseem. With Jubilee Hills' diverse electorate—encompassing affluent urbanites, IT professionals, and significant Muslim and Hindu populations—the contest promises a fierce three-way battle amid the ruling party's push to retain urban strongholds.
Congress, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is executing a multi-pronged inclusive campaign to build on its 2023 Assembly triumph. Reddy has undertaken symbolic courtesy visits to prominent community leaders, emphasising the government's commitment to inclusivity and reassurance across castes and religions. A key move—allocating long-pending land for a kabristan (Muslim graveyard)—has solidified goodwill among the area's substantial Muslim voters, who form a crucial 25-30% bloc. Party workers are also highlighting welfare schemes like free bus travel for women, Indiramma housing, and six guarantees, positioning Congress as the champion of the underprivileged in this posh seat.
The BJP, in contrast, is zeroing in on Hindu-majority pockets with ideological mobilisation, invoking Hindutva themes, development planks, and anti-corruption rhetoric to consolidate its core base. Campaigning aggressively on 'double engine Sarkar' synergies between state and Centre, the party aims to peel off upper-caste and middle-class votes disillusioned with Congress governance. Leaders like Union Minister Kishan Reddy and state chief G. Kishan are leading door-to-door drives, roadshows, and temple outreach, while criticising alleged 'appeasement politics' over the kabristan decision.

BRS, the main opposition, is mounting a revival bid by attacking Congress on unfulfilled promises and 'betrayal' post-2023 alliance. Former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao's family—led by working president K.T. Rama Rao—is spearheading a hyper-local campaign, focusing on Jubilee Hills' perennial issues like traffic congestion, water scarcity, and real estate encroachments. With youth and minority outreach via social media blitzes, BRS seeks to reclaim its urban vote share eroded in the last polls. Nominations close soon, with results eyed as a litmus test for Revanth Reddy's two-year tenure.
