Tanishq, a leading jewellery brand under the Tata Group’s Titan Company, has partnered with Gemological Science International (GSI) to provide specialized gemological sales training for its retail and corporate teams across India, according to PTI. The collaboration aims to elevate the jewellery buying experience by equipping staff with deep product knowledge and fostering transparency, authenticity, and customer confidence.
Hemang Nensee, Tanishq’s Lead for Retail Capability Jewellery, stated, “GSI’s diamond and gemstone certification programmes have equipped our frontline teams at Tanishq and Mia with deep product knowledge and confidence. GSI has also helped us shape compelling in-store narratives and customer education tools, enabling us to deliver a jewellery experience that’s rooted in authenticity, expertise, and care.” He emphasized the partnership’s role in building informed teams and confident customers.
GSI, a global leader in gemological services with 13 laboratories worldwide, including offices in Mumbai, Surat, Thrissur, and Jaipur, brings its expertise in diamond and gemstone grading to the initiative. “Our programmes are designed to empower sales professionals with gemological tools that inspire trust and confidence,” said GSI Managing Director Ramit Kapur. The training includes modules on diamond grading, colored stone identification, and customer engagement strategies, tailored to enhance Tanishq’s retail experience.

This partnership aligns with GSI’s commitment to education, as seen in its prior initiatives like the Diamond Essentials Course for retailers like Fred Meyer Jewelers and its Colored Stone Professional program, which focuses on gemstone identification and market trends. By integrating GSI’s expertise, Tanishq aims to set a new standard for transparency and professionalism in India’s jewellery retail sector, strengthening its position as a trusted brand.
