Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray declared his party’s unwavering support for the government during national crises, despite ideological differences, emphasizing, “We are not against the country but against the government.”
Speaking at a meeting of MPs, legislators, and district chiefs at Sena Bhavan in Dadar, Thackeray asserted, “Kashmir was ours yesterday, is ours today, and will be ours tomorrow,” while taking a jab at the BJP, saying, “One day, the BJP will not remain, but Kashmir will.”
The meeting focused on organizational readiness for upcoming local and civic elections, spurred by a Supreme Court directive to complete the process within four months. Despite recent defections to Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, Thackeray remained defiant, stating, “Our ship is not sinking. The BJP’s overloaded ship is.”

He accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of controlling multiple parties, including Shinde’s Sena and the NCP, and urged workers to stay resilient, saying, “Let those who want to leave go. The workers are with us.”
Thackeray also addressed the Joint Parliamentary Committee’s Mumbai visit on One Nation One Election, supporting transparent simultaneous polls but criticizing campaign involvement by the Prime Minister and Chief Minister.
Post-meeting, Shiv Sena-UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi told reporters that Thackeray directed activists to prioritize public issues like the Ladki Bahin Yojana, farmers’ woes, and water scarcity, which have been overshadowed by India-Pakistan tensions following the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
As Sena-UBT gears up for civic polls, Thackeray’s call to champion the common man signals a strategic push to reclaim ground in Maharashtra.
