The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) commenced its centenary celebrations on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhawan, drawing a distinguished gathering that included yoga guru Ramdev, JDU leader KC Tyagi, Bollywood actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, and Union ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Anupriya Patel. The three-day event, themed “100 Years Journey of RSS: New Horizons,” marks a significant milestone for the organization, founded in 1925.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the celebrations with a lecture outlining his vision for India’s future and the pivotal role of RSS volunteers, or swayamsevaks, in realizing it. Bhagwat is set to engage with participants’ questions on the final day, fostering an interactive dialogue. The event is the first in a series of nationwide initiatives planned for the RSS’s centenary year, which includes over one lakh Hindu sammelans across the country, starting with Bhagwat’s address in Nagpur on Vijaya Dashami, October 2, 2025.
The RSS also announced an ambitious door-to-door public contact program to strengthen community ties during its centenary year. With prominent figures from politics, spirituality, and entertainment in attendance, the celebrations underscore the organization’s enduring influence and its commitment to shaping India’s cultural and social landscape.
