Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor staged a fiery protest at Chitkohra roundabout in Patna after police used "mild force" to stop his "Vidhan Sabha march," injuring supporters. The march, backed by "one crore signatures," demanded action on the Nitish Kumar government’s alleged failures in aiding the poor post-caste survey and curbing corruption in the land survey.
Patna Central SP Diksha explained the area was restricted, necessitating intervention. Kishor, undeterred, sat on a dharna, disrupting traffic near key government sites. He demanded a meeting with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, dismissing talks with the chief secretary unless written assurances were provided. Angrily confronting police, Kishor challenged them to use force against him, citing past lathi-charges and his arrest during a BPSC protest.
Kishor, whose party plans to contest all 243 seats in upcoming elections, warned police of severe consequences. A Jan Suraaj delegation, led by Manoj Bharti, later submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, pressing the party’s demands.
