Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a sharp critique of Kerala’s ruling LDF and opposition UDF during a public rally in Thiruvananthapuram today, declaring that “change is inevitable” in the state. Addressing a large gathering, he positioned the BJP as the only genuine alternative to the two dominant fronts, accusing both the Left Democratic Front (led by CPM) and United Democratic Front (led by Congress) of corruption, misgovernance, appeasement politics, and zero accountability.
Modi highlighted the recent BJP victory in Thiruvananthapuram civic elections as a historic milestone and the foundation for the party’s growth in Kerala. “You have seen only LDF and UDF so far—both have destroyed Kerala by turns. Now a third side has emerged: development and good governance under the BJP and NDA,” he said, promising to end the cycle of the same corrupt system persisting despite government changes.
He accused the LDF government of undermining Sabarimala temple traditions and gave a firm assurance: “Sabarimala probe—Modi ki guarantee.” The Prime Minister also slammed the Congress for becoming “more communist than Maoists and more communal than the Muslim League,” urging voters to save the state from such politics.

Modi emphasized that Kerala needs a “double engine” NDA government to fulfill its aspirations and achieve ‘Viksit Keralam’ in the coming 25 years. He pointed to growing public trust in the BJP and called for a decisive mandate to bring pro-people, development-oriented politics to the state.
In a lighter moment, Modi spotted a child in the crowd holding his portrait, instructed security to collect it, and promised to personally reply after the child writes his address on the back.
The rally comes amid the NDA’s intensified focus on southern states ahead of upcoming assembly elections, with Modi combining infrastructure announcements earlier in the day with a strong political pitch against the incumbent Left and Congress-led opposition.
