Newly appointed BJP National President Nitin Nabin is set to arrive in Bengaluru on Saturday evening for his first visit to Karnataka after assuming charge, marking an important organisational outreach by the party’s central leadership in the state. Karnataka BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra announced the schedule, saying Nabin’s visit will include a series of meetings with senior leaders, legislators, and party workers.
According to Vijayendra, Nabin will begin his engagements on Sunday with a visit to former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa’s residence for breakfast, a customary political interaction often seen as a symbolic outreach to senior party leadership in the state. Following this, he will visit the Kadumalleshwara Temple to offer prayers before heading to the state BJP headquarters, Jagannath Bhavan, where he is scheduled to arrive around 10 a.m.
The BJP national president is expected to hold detailed discussions with Members of Parliament, MLAs, and Members of the Legislative Council for nearly two hours. Party sources said the meeting will include a review of the current political situation in Karnataka, organisational strengthening, and preparations for upcoming electoral challenges. The engagement is being seen as part of a broader effort to consolidate internal coordination within the state unit.

Nabin is also scheduled to participate in the BJP core committee meeting during his visit, followed by attendance at a training camp organised in Bengaluru North district. Party leaders said his presence at the training programme is expected to energise cadre-level workers and reinforce organisational discipline at the grassroots level. The visit is being positioned as an important step in strengthening the party’s structure in Karnataka.
Speaking to reporters, Vijayendra described the visit as a matter of pride for the state unit, stating that the national president’s participation in training activities would serve as motivation for party workers. He also used the occasion to criticise the Karnataka government over fuel price increases, attributing the hikes to global economic conditions and urging the state to reduce additional taxes on petrol and diesel.
Vijayendra further targeted state leaders, including Minister Priyank Kharge, urging him to focus on advising the state government rather than criticising the opposition. He reiterated that the BJP believes the state should take steps to ease fuel prices for citizens, while emphasising that the central government’s decisions are driven by international market pressures.
