Fresh controversy has emerged surrounding the death of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, as leaders from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) raised new questions on the third-month anniversary of the plane crash that claimed his life. The latest statements have triggered political debate, with calls for deeper scrutiny into the circumstances preceding the crash near Baramati earlier this year. The allegations, however, remain unverified, and no official findings have linked them to the incident so far.
NCP leader Amol Mitkari claimed in a post on X that some local residents had described a ritual allegedly conducted near Pawar’s residence in Baramati before the crash. He also shared images said to show a dead goat, suggesting the matter raised serious questions that needed investigation. Authorities have not independently confirmed the claims, and no evidence has been publicly presented to substantiate any connection between the alleged ritual and the aviation accident.
Separately, Pawar’s nephew and MLA Rohit Pawar referred to similar allegations while speaking to the media. He claimed that a Nashik-based self-styled godman, Ashok Kharat, who reportedly faces criminal charges, could be linked to the episode through intermediaries. Rohit Pawar did not provide documentary proof or specific evidence in support of the allegation during his remarks.

Rohit Pawar further alleged that a political leader from Baramati had been in contact with Kharat, though he did not identify the individual. He also cited earlier remarks by NCP MP Sunil Tatkare regarding alleged ritual practices. He said he would continue to pursue the matter and seek accountability, indicating that the family and supporters still wanted clarity over unanswered questions linked to the tragedy.
At present, no official investigative agency has publicly endorsed the claims of black magic, rituals, or conspiracy made by political leaders. The plane crash investigation remains the central legal process for determining the cause of Ajit Pawar’s death. Until verified findings are released, the latest allegations are likely to remain politically sensitive claims rather than established facts.
