Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) during a rally in Durgapur, accusing it of jeopardizing Bengal’s identity and national security through vote-bank politics and infiltration. Positioning the BJP as the sole protector of Bengali 'ashmita' (identity), Modi vowed to thwart TMC’s “lies, lawlessness, and loot.”
“TMC’s vested interests have put Bengal’s identity at stake. Their ecosystem encourages infiltration, threatening national and state security,” Modi declared, alleging the party openly challenges constitutional institutions and defends illegal immigrants. Amid claims of harassment of Bengali-speaking migrants in BJP-ruled states, he countered, “The real threat to Bengal’s dignity comes from TMC’s misrule within.”
Modi criticized TMC’s appeasement politics, stating, “They protect infiltrators while Bengal’s youth are forced to migrate for jobs.” He highlighted the BJP’s recognition of Bangla as a classical language, unlike TMC, Left, and Congress, which he accused of neglecting Bengali pride for decades.

The PM slammed TMC’s economic mismanagement, citing a “Gunda Tax” and mafia control that deter investors. “Violence, biased policing, and lack of justice scare away investment,” he said, referencing incidents like the Murshidabad riots. Modi also condemned the teacher recruitment scam, which left 26,000 educators jobless, calling it a result of TMC’s “corrupt system” that jeopardizes education and the future of Bengal’s youth.
Promising a prosperous Bengal, Modi said, “The BJP dreams of a developed Bengal, and our projects are steps toward that vision.” The rally underscored the BJP’s push to challenge TMC’s dominance ahead of future elections.
