Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin intensified his election campaign in Pudukottai district on Saturday, as political parties across the state entered the final stretch of campaigning ahead of the April 23 Assembly polls.
With voting just days away, Stalin engaged in an active outreach programme, including a morning walk in Iluppur where he interacted with local residents, traders, and party workers. The informal interactions quickly turned into a large public gathering, with supporters assembling to greet the Chief Minister and raise local concerns.
During the visit, Stalin campaigned for DMK candidate Chellapandian, urging voters to support the party and its alliance partners. He highlighted the state government’s welfare schemes, development projects, and administrative performance as key achievements, positioning them as reasons for seeking another term in office.

The campaign saw significant participation from party cadres and local leaders, reflecting the organisational strength of the ruling party in the region. Pudukottai is considered strategically important in the broader electoral calculations of the DMK-led alliance, which is aiming to retain power in the state.
In his remarks to the media, Stalin expressed confidence about the electoral outcome, stating that the ruling alliance would secure victory across all constituencies. His comments come amid heightened political competition in Tamil Nadu, where multiple parties are aggressively campaigning across constituencies.
The state is witnessing a multi-cornered contest involving the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the AIADMK-BJP alliance, actor Joseph Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, and the Seeman-led Naam Tamilar Katchi.
As campaigning enters its final phase, parties are ramping up rallies, roadshows, and voter outreach efforts across Tamil Nadu. The election outcome, to be declared on May 4, will decide the state’s political direction for the next five years.
