Gujarat Congress President Amit Chavda issued a stark two-month ultimatum to the Bhupendra Patel-led BJP government on Wednesday, threatening a massive "Nepalwali"-style agitation if longstanding farmers' demands remain unmet. Addressing a charged "Krishak Andolan Kshetriya Mahapanchayat" and "Jan Akrosh Sabha" in Rajkot, flanked by senior leaders like AICC observer Mukul Wasnik, state chief Shaktisinh Gohil, and former MP Geniben Thakor, Chavda rallied thousands of farmers and activists. He vowed to mobilise villagers statewide to "surround the Assembly in Gandhinagar" in a relentless protest, declaring, "If the government does not work in the interest of farmers, we will surrender 100 percent of our seats, but we will not surrender our fight!"

Chavda lambasted the BJP regime for "turning its back on the very hands that feed Gujarat," pinpointing policy failures amid unseasonal rains that devastated crops without adequate compensation or support from the Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana. The Congress demands fair prices for produce, immediate relief packages, and timely insurance payouts for affected farmers grappling with mounting distress. "Public anger is swelling," he warned, invoking Nepal's recent political upheaval to signal that "if pushed further, we will do ‘Nepalwali’ and this time, the throne will not survive."

Escalating his offensive, Chavda derided the government's recent cabinet reshuffle as a "smokescreen to hide corruption," claiming, "The entire team was corrupt—that’s why they were removed." He alleged that honest BJP leaders connected to the land and people are sidelined, while those enabling "liquor, gambling, and hooliganism" receive promotions, exposing the party's internal power struggles and moral decay.
