Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Tuesday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of "mental bankruptcy" and alleged that Gandhi was attacking constitutional institutions after failing to regain political power. Singh made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the valedictory session of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.

Referring to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, Singh questioned Gandhi's criticism of the exercise and pointed to the provision allowing people to submit their details if their names are missed or deleted after publication. Singh also accused Gandhi of repeatedly targeting the Election Commission and the Supreme Court, while alleging that opposition leaders were acting against the country's interests.

Singh further targeted the political alliance between the Congress and Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, describing it as a "thugbandhan" and claiming that the parties had failed in the state. He alleged that Gandhi lacked the confidence to contest an election independently and would seek the support of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Singh also claimed that India's youth were determined to protect the country.

The Union minister also praised the Uttar Pradesh government for organising the fourth edition of the five-day UP International Trade Show. He highlighted the state's One District One Product initiative and said the event featured culinary specialities from districts across Uttar Pradesh. According to Singh, business-to-business transactions worth approximately Rs 20,000 crore were generated during the trade show.

Singh said countries including Japan, Belarus, Russia, Australia and Vietnam participated in the event and displayed various products. He also said Uttar Pradesh was progressing towards becoming a one trillion dollar economy. The minister attributed the state's industrial development to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Highlighting developments in the state's manufacturing sector, Singh referred to the production of BrahMos missiles and fighter jets in Uttar Pradesh. He contrasted the current industrial activity with what he described as the earlier dominance of illegal country-made firearm manufacturing and said the state had now earned the description of "Uttam Pradesh."
