Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis accused the opposition of spreading misinformation and false narratives ahead of local body polls, claiming they cannot compete with the government’s development record.
Speaking to BJP workers in Vidarbha, Fadnavis said the opposition avoids discussing progress because it highlights their own shortcomings during past tenures. “Since 2014, we’ve transformed cities, but they can’t match PM Modi’s development initiatives, so they resort to daily false narratives,” he stated.
Fadnavis defended the Maharashtra Special Public Security Bill, aimed at curbing “urban Naxals” and anarchy, dismissing opposition claims of unconstitutionality. He noted that 99% of critics haven’t read the unanimously passed legislation, accusing them of following “high command” orders to mislead.
He warned that with polls nearing, the opposition will push divisive narratives around caste and language, sidestepping development to confuse voters.
