Goa BJP president Damodar Naik announced on Saturday that the party is aiming to capture more than 51% of the vote share in the state's 2027 assembly elections, a significant jump from the 33.31% secured in 2022, with the goal of forming the government and presenting it as a tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at a function marking his birthday, Naik expressed confidence in replicating the party's 51% vote share achievement in Goa's 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where BJP retained North Goa but lost South Goa to Congress.
"If we all work together, it's possible to achieve this in the assembly polls," he said, citing the positive public mood as a favourable factor for retaining power.
