The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched an extensive organisational drive across Maharashtra, conducting nearly 1,200 training camps aimed at familiarising new members and youth with the party’s ideological framework. The initiative comes in the wake of the party’s electoral successes, including victories in the 2024 Assembly elections and control of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), along with several other local bodies.
These “prashikshan shivirs", or training camps, have been underway since February 20 and are expected to continue as part of a year-long programme. The camps are designed to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, particularly at a time when no major elections are scheduled in the state for the next three-and-a-half years. The focus remains on consolidating support and building a structured organisational base.
A key component of these sessions is the promotion of the party’s core philosophy of Integral Humanism. Speakers at the camps emphasise this doctrine as a native and holistic framework, positioning it as an alternative to Western models such as capitalism and socialism. The sessions aim to provide ideological clarity and align new entrants with the party’s long-term vision and principles.

Political observers note that the large-scale initiative reflects the BJP’s strategy of maintaining momentum beyond electoral victories by investing in cadre development and ideological training. By focusing on education and mobilisation during a relatively election-free period, the party appears to be preparing its organisational machinery for sustained political engagement and future electoral challenges in Maharashtra.
