Rohini Acharya, Lalu Yadav’s daughter and kidney donor, has accused family members of hurling “filthy abuses” and raising a slipper at her during a heated confrontation following RJD’s Bihar election defeat. In a scathing social media post, the 46-year-old claimed she was insulted for her political involvement and mocked for donating her “dirty kidney” to her father in 2022 in exchange for a party ticket. She announced disowning the family, stating she left her parents and sisters in tears.
Sources allege the slipper was raised by her younger brother, former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, who reportedly blamed her for the party’s poor performance. Acharya said senior RJD leaders Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Khan advised her to quit politics and disown the family publicly after the argument escalated. She wrote, “May no family ever have a daughter like Rohini,” expressing deep emotional distress over being “torn away” from her maternal home.
The BJP seized the moment, with IT cell head Amit Malviya slamming the Yadav family as “patriarchal and anti-woman.” He highlighted Lalu’s preference for son Tejashwi despite Rohini’s life-saving donation, stating, “This is the real face of the Lalu family’s male-dominated mentality.” The controversy has intensified scrutiny on RJD’s internal dynamics post its electoral setback.

LJP leader Chirag Paswan, a BJP ally, refrained from criticism, calling the Yadavs his “siblings” despite political rivalry. “I pray this family dispute is resolved soon,” he said, referencing his own past tensions with the family. The RJD has remained silent on the allegations.
As the feud spills into public view, Acharya’s exit marks a rare fracture in the tightly knit Yadav political dynasty. With no official response from Lalu or Tejashwi, the episode risks damaging RJD’s image ahead of future electoral battles in Bihar.
