The Karnataka unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday filed a formal complaint with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission seeking the withdrawal of the teaser for actor Yash’s upcoming film, Toxic. The party alleges that the content is inappropriate and poses a risk to the social and mental well-being of women and children.
Led by AAP State Secretary Usha Mohan, several women office-bearers submitted the complaint in person at the Commission’s office. They urged authorities to direct the film’s producers to immediately remove the teaser from public platforms and social media channels.
Mohan claimed the teaser contains explicit visuals, including a controversial car sequence, which she described as “detrimental to the dignity of women and against Karnataka’s cultural values.” She added that the teaser was released without any age restrictions, amplifying its potential negative impact.

The AAP requested the Women’s Commission to intervene and also called upon the state government and police to take appropriate action. Mohan emphasized the need to protect women and children from exposure to sensationalized and explicit content in mainstream media.
The Toxic teaser, released on January 8, has gone viral with over 220 million views in a week. While the film has been praised for its bold cinematic style, it has also attracted criticism on social media for allegedly objectifying women and promoting adult content unnecessarily.
The complaint highlights the growing debate over censorship, content regulation, and responsible portrayal of women in Indian cinema, as political and social groups increasingly call for stricter oversight of digital and film content.
