Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath intensified anticipation around the Noida International Airport as he conducted a detailed inspection of the construction site in Jewar on Saturday. Leading a team of local authorities and top officials, Adityanath surveyed ongoing preparations ahead of the airport’s much-awaited inauguration, which officials say could take place as early as October 30.
Following his site visit, the Chief Minister chaired a review meeting with senior district officials and project leadership from Noida International Airport. Updates on infrastructure progress and operational readiness were presented by CEO Christoph Schnellmann and COO Kiran Jain, with Adityanath issuing further directives to streamline final arrangements for the launch. The airport is being developed under a public-private partnership by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a Zurich Airport International AG subsidiary, for the state government.
The landmark project will roll out in four phases, with the first phase spanning 1,300 hectares and featuring one runway and a terminal building. Upon completion of all phases, the airport is set to cover nearly 5,000 hectares, making it the largest in India by area. Officials confirmed during the meeting that passenger flights from Jewar are slated to begin operating by December this year, cementing Noida’s status as a new aviation hub in the country.
