The devastating fire in Vivek Vihar has claimed multiple lives after a blaze tore through a residential building, leaving behind scenes of intense grief and destruction. Among the most tragic recoveries was that of a mother found clutching her one-and-a-half-year-old child in a final attempt to protect him from the flames.
According to officials and eyewitness accounts, the fire engulfed the multi-storey house rapidly, trapping several members of two families inside. In total, nine people lost their lives in the incident, with victims found across different floors of the building as firefighters carried out rescue and recovery operations after bringing the blaze under control.
One of the most heartbreaking images from the scene was the recovery of Anchal Jain, who was found holding her son tightly in her arms even after death. Her child, identified as Akash Jain, was just one-and-a-half years old. Rescue teams reported that several victims appeared to have attempted to seek safety but were overwhelmed by smoke and flames.
