Anuj Agnihotri has secured the top rank in the Civil Services Examination 2025, according to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), which announced the results on Friday. Rajeshwari Suve M and Akansh Dhull claimed the second and third ranks, respectively, in this highly competitive examination.
A total of 958 candidates have successfully qualified and are recommended for appointment to various central civil services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS). Of these, the candidature of 348 recommended candidates has been kept provisional, the Commission stated.
The Civil Services Examination, conducted annually by UPSC, is held in three stages: preliminary, main, and interview. It is regarded as one of the most challenging examinations in India, attracting thousands of candidates each year vying for limited vacancies in the country’s top administrative positions.

The Centre had reported 1,087 vacancies to be filled through the 2025 examination. Successful candidates are expected to undergo rigorous training before being appointed to their respective services, ensuring they are prepared for the responsibilities associated with administrative, diplomatic, and law enforcement roles.
UPSC has also set up a “facilitation counter” near its examination hall on the Commission’s campus. Candidates can obtain information or clarifications regarding their examinations or recruitments in person or via telephone during working hours, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., the Commission said.
The Commission added that detailed marks for candidates will be made available on the UPSC website within 15 days from the date of the declaration of results, allowing candidates to review their performance in the examination.
