The Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a major late-night administrative reshuffle, transferring 17 IAS officers and changing the responsibilities of several senior bureaucrats across the state. The changes cover key positions in divisional administration, the Revenue Council, rural development, urban development, planning and various departments of the state secretariat.

Among the significant changes, Sangeeta Singh, who was serving as Divisional Commissioner of Aligarh, has been transferred as the new Divisional Commissioner of Moradabad. She replaces IAS officer Anjaneya Kumar Singh, whose deputation ended on August 14. Following the completion of his deputation, Anjaneya Kumar Singh has been repatriated to his parent cadre in Sikkim.

Om Prakash Arya, who was serving as Member (Judicial) at the Revenue Council in Prayagraj, has been appointed Divisional Commissioner of Aligarh. The reshuffle also brings changes to the Ayush and Rural Development departments. Gauri Shankar Priyadarshi, formerly Commissioner and Secretary of Rural Development, has been appointed Director General, Ayush, and Mission Director of the National Ayush Mission in Uttar Pradesh.

Pramod Kumar Upadhyay, Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, has been appointed Commissioner of Rural Development. Ravindra Kumar has been posted as Secretary of the Urban Development Department and relieved of his additional responsibilities as Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Urban) and State Mission Director of AMRUT. Dr Raj Shekhar, previously Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural), has been appointed Secretary of the Planning Department and Director General of Economics and Statistics.

Yogesh Kumar, Commissioner and Registrar of Cooperation, will take over as Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural). Devendra Kumar Pandey has been posted as Special Secretary in the Consumer Affairs Department after serving in the Agriculture Production Commissioner Branch. Vivek Srivastava, Secretary of the Lucknow Development Authority, has been appointed Special Secretary in the Animal Husbandry Department.

The reshuffle also affects the Higher Education Department and the Revenue Council. Amrit Tripathi, Secretary of the Higher Education Department, has been appointed Member (Judicial) of the Revenue Council in Prayagraj. Om Prakash Rai, who was serving as Member (Judicial) at the Revenue Council, has been posted as Special Secretary in the Higher Education Department. The changes collectively represent a broad reorganisation of senior administrative responsibilities across Uttar Pradesh.

The latest appointments place experienced IAS officers in key field and departmental positions covering urban administration, rural development, planning, health-related programmes and revenue matters. The government has also redistributed additional responsibilities among senior bureaucrats as part of the reshuffle. The changes are expected to bring a fresh administrative structure across several important departments and divisions of the state.
