Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel launched the ‘Khush-haal Van Maha Abhiyan 2025’ today, planting saplings at the Army campus near Barabanki railway station. The ambitious initiative aims to plant a record 37 crore fruit-bearing, shade-giving, and medicinal trees across the state in a single day.
“Tree plantation is a commitment to future generations,” Patel said, urging society to nurture the saplings for sustained environmental benefits. The event, attended by Minister of State Satish Sharma and MLC Angad Singh, featured students raising awareness through posters and slogans.
District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi outlined the meticulous preparations and monitoring systems in place to ensure the campaign’s success. The drive aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s broader goal to combat climate change and enhance green cover, with local authorities overseeing sapling care to maximize survival rates.
