The Ullu App has removed its reality show House Arrest, hosted by actor Ajaz Khan, following intense backlash over its sexually explicit content.
A search for the show on Ullu’s platform, known for adult-oriented content, returned no results on Friday, with the message, “Your search for ‘House Arrest’ did not find any matches.” The decision comes after a viral clip sparked widespread outrage, showing Khan pressuring female contestants to perform intimate acts on camera, visibly discomforting them with invasive questions.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) took suo motu cognizance, summoning Ullu CEO Vibhu Agarwal and Khan to appear on May 9, 2025, condemning the show for “promoting vulgarity and violating consent.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized Ullu and Alt Balaji for evading a 2024 I&B Ministry ban on 18 OTT platforms for obscene content, questioning their exemption. Maharashtra BJP MLC Chitra Wagh demanded an immediate ban, calling the show a “perverse attack” on societal values.
Launched on April 11, House Arrest featured 12 contestants in a Bigg Boss-style format, drawing ire for tasks involving explicit simulations. Social media users slammed it as “disgusting” and a “cheap copy,” with Advocate Vineet Jindal filing a complaint with Delhi Police, alleging violations of Indian cultural and legal norms.
Participant Gehna Vashisht defended the show, questioning the lack of scrutiny on pornography. The controversy has reignited debates over OTT regulation in India.
