In a devastating incident, brothers Santosh Kumar Gautam (19) and Ankit Kumar Gautam (16) lost their lives when a wall near their home in Bhatholi village collapsed on Wednesday, police said. The sons of Aditya Kumar Gautam were returning from their fields when the structure fell, burying them under debris, resulting in their immediate deaths, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar) Amit Kumar reported.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered his condolences and directed officials to provide immediate support. The district administration promptly transferred Rs 8 lakh—Rs 4 lakh per deceased—from the State Disaster Response Fund to the family’s bank account, the SDM confirmed. The community mourns the loss as authorities investigate the cause of the collapse.
