A 37-year-old man was killed, and his young son was injured when a school bus struck their two-wheeler from behind in Bompas town, Jharkhand’s Deoghar district, on Tuesday morning, police reported. The father was en route to drop his son at school when the fatal collision occurred, with the bus narrowly sparing its student passengers from harm.
The injured son is receiving treatment at a local hospital, said DSP Lakshan Prasad. Enraged locals vandalized the bus, raising concerns about its roadworthiness and alleging the driver lacked a valid license. Authorities are interrogating the driver and investigating these claims, with a probe underway to determine the cause of the accident and verify the vehicle’s fitness.
