A four-year-old boy lost his life in a horrific accident at an electric vehicle charging station in Kerala’s Vagamon on Friday afternoon. The child, a resident of Nemom, Thiruvananthapuram, was on a holiday with his family when a car crashed into him and his mother, Arya Mohan, at Vazhikkadavu Junction.
The family, led by the boy’s father, an Indian Air Force officer, had driven from Pala, Kottayam, to Vagamon. While their car was charging, Arya, 30, sat in a quiet corner of the station, holding her son. A speeding car slammed into them, killing the child and leaving Arya with severe injuries. She is under treatment at a private hospital in Pala.
Police have detained the driver and seized the vehicle, registering a case under relevant laws. The incident, captured on CCTV, has raised concerns about safety at charging stations.
